今日は　ハロウェーンです。 Since it's Halloween, I thought I would talk about one of my favorite movie monsters the 怪獣 (かいじゅう, giant monster) ゴジラ。 Godzilla's original film ゴジラwas directed by 本多猪四郎 (ほんだいしろう）and was released in 1954 by Toho.  The movie focused heavily on the theme on the use of nuclear weapons, and is one of the most famous anti-nuclear weapon films of the day.  えいがは　日本で　ゆうめいでして、アメリカで　にんきと　なりました (became famous). The movie focuses on an ancient beast, Godzilla (or ゴジラ) awakening and mutating due to nuclear testing and reeking havoc on Japanese cities.  A scientist creates this weapon called the oxygen destroyer to kill Godzilla, however, he realizes just how powerful this weapon is.  At the climax of the film, the scientist decides to kill himself and ゴジラin order to save Japan from the threat of Godzilla and the world from the potential threat of the oxygen destroyer. えいがは　とても　おもしかったでして、よかったです。でも、えいがの結末は (けつまつ, ending/outcome)　かなしかったです。 The movie became so successful that T

月曜日のごごごじからごごろくじはんまで　マクケナホールで　いわどさんのレクチャが　あります。いわどさんのレクチャは　たのしいです.  It was very interesting to learn about Japan's role as a very important political ally and trade partner to the United States.  What I found most interesting about the business relations between the US and Japan was how far spread Japanese business is in the US.  I knew that Japanese companies contribute heavily to the markets on the West Coast and the East Coast, but I was surprised to find that they are even heavily involved in the Midwest.   Another interesting aspect of the lecture was Mr. Iwado's discussion of the external and internal issues that Japan faces.  Mr. Iwado's discussion on the aging population and Prime Minister Abe's attempts at improving the Japanese population were enlightening.  I was also very interested in Mr. Iwado's opinions on the issues of North Korea and the South China Sea.  As an American I see China's and Japan's conflict over the South China Sea as an issue
